January is usually a busy month for us as a business, this is the month where brides start planning their weddings and we start printing their wedding favours. Not this year… Lockdown 3.0 We have had a few couples making orders for wildflower wedding seed packets and they have asked for the date to be left blank, which we think is a great idea. So we have diversified with our recycled cards.
Over Christmas we had quite a few business customers buying wildflower seed packets but also wanting cards too. They wanted to give their employee’s a small gift at Christmas. The companies we did this for were very pleased with the cards and seeds so we have decided to make our recycled cards available to everyone.
Being an eco friendly and plastic free company we wanted the same standards that we use in our seed packets for our cards too. Luckily for the last few years we have been using an amazing British business to provide us with card and tape and they also do recycled cards and envelopes. The best bit about this business is everything is 100% recycled and 100% recyclable. Plus they use UK consumer waste! Their products are also amazing, thick 280-300gsm card in a range of colours and styles. We have initially gone with an off-white natural card & good old manilla.
So I have been busy designing some new recycled cards. The first one was initially designed for Valentines Day, my husband who is a bit of a poet wrote the little verse. I surveyed some friends of what they thought and put a pic on Instagram and surprisingly lots of people wanted it for friends and family during lockdown. So tweaked it a bit and here it is
The poem reads:
"A bunch of flowers won't last very long, a week or so and they'll be gone. So here are some seeds for your to sow and like my love for you will continue to grow"
So as we mentioned inside is a packet of wildflower seeds, this is the same mixture we use in our other wildflower products. It is bought fresh each month from our British supplier. So the second card came about because I just love the design, it’s one of my favourites. Here it is:
This design just says everything Spring and Easter to me. So again this card is 100% recycled and 100% recyclable. It also comes with a packet of wildflower seeds to plant in the Spring. Inside the card reads “Happy Easter” we can change this to be blank should you wish to use them for another occasion.

As always these cards will come in plastic free packaging. Single cards will be sent in a hard backed envelope and the multi packs come in cardboard letterbox sized boxes.
